As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the very best everyday banking experience, all existing and new Current Account members will receive the new Visa Debit Card as cards are rolled out over the coming weeks. The move from Mastercard to Visa ensures members continue to enjoy secure, convenient payments both at home and abroad, while benefiting from a modern card design that’s easier to use.

What’s New?

The new Visa Debit Card has been redesigned with members in mind and includes a range of improvements:

  • Worldwide acceptance – Use your card confidently at millions of shops, restaurants, websites and ATMs across the globe.
  • Modern card design – A portrait layout reflects the way the card is naturally used in terminals and ATMs.
  • Printed card details – Your card number, expiry date and security code are now printed for improved readability.
  • Simplified information – All personal card details are located together on the back of the card.
  • Improved accessibility – An easy-to-feel notch helps visually impaired users correctly orient the card when inserting it into payment terminals and ATMs.
  • Secure online shopping – Visa Secure provides an extra layer of protection when making purchases online.

What Do I Need to Do?

When your new Visa Debit Card arrives:

  • Follow the instructions included in your card mailer.
  • Activate your new card as soon as possible.
  • Your existing Mastercard will continue to work until you activate your new Visa Debit Card or until the transition period ends.
